Trump plans to host French president at Mount Vernon: Report

President Trump will bestow the rare honor of hosting French President Emmanuel Macron at a private dinner at the home of George Washington called Mount Vernon, according to the French publication Journal du Dimanche.

Macron is set to come to Washington in late April for his first official state visit during the Trump administration. The journal reports that Macron and his wife Brigitte will dine with Trump and first lady Melania Trump at Mount Vernon on April 23.

The dinner invite is a rare honor. Former President George W. Bush hosted former French President Nicolas Sarkozy for an interview in February 2007 and John Kennedy invited Pakistani President Muhammad Ayub Khan there for a state dinner in 1961.

President Trump visited to France back in July 2017.
