Republicans skeptical of Iran war sound off about Lindsey Graham’s ties to Trump

Several Republican lawmakers critical of the Iran war have criticized Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) over his close relationship with President Donald Trump as internecine tensions spill into public view.

The backlash underscores a growing divide within the party over the prospect of increased involvement in the conflict with Iran, with some House Republicans warning against what they see as pro-war rhetoric.

“I absolutely think he should have his Oval Office credentials revoked,” Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) told Migrant Insider’s Pablo Manriquez on Wednesday in a rebuke to Graham’s proximity to Trump.

Others echoed similar concerns, particularly on the possibility of sending troops to Iran.

“Washington’s war machine is hard at work,” Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) wrote Wednesday on X. “They are try to drag us into Iran to make it another Iraq. We can’t let them.”

“And yes, when we say Washington’s war machine, we mean Lindsey Graham,” she added.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) went further, accusing Graham of consistently backing foreign conflicts.

“Some in the Senate that advocate for war everywhere. Lindsey Graham is one of them,” Luna wrote on X. “NO BOOTS on the ground. If Senator Graham wants to go fight in a foreign conflict, let him be the first to volunteer.”

TRUMP JOKES HEGSETH DOESN’T WANT IRAN WAR TO END

Graham, a longtime foreign policy hawk, has defended his stance and praised Trump’s past actions toward Iran, arguing that a more aggressive posture is necessary to deter the country’s nuclear ambitions.

“To these people, and wherever you’re at, you got your head in the sand,” Graham said in a recent interview with the Washington Examiner. “The Iranians are trying to build a nuclear weapon, not a power plant. Thank God that Trump acted. If he’d waited another year, they could have broken out and had 10 to 11 [nuclear] weapons.”
