Is this Obama’s friendliest interview yet?

A reporter thanked President Obama in an interview this week for saving his life and finances.

Prior to the passage of the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, the lifetime limits placed on Extra’s Jerry Penacoli’s health insurance required that he pay enormous sums of money out of pocket to help him battle melanoma and thyroid cancer.

However, after Congress passed Obamacare, Penacoli saw relief.

“You pretty much saved my finances and my life,” the reporter told the president during an interview in the White House Rose Garden.

Obama said, “One of the goals for the Affordable Care Act was not just to help people get insurance for people who didn’t have it, it was to give better protections to those who already had insurance.”

“You were a perfect example of someone who could be caught with debilitating bills, or, alternatively, not being able to get the care you need,” Obama said.
