Obama to thank CDC Ebola workers in person

President Obama will visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta on Tuesday to be updated on Africa’s Ebola epidemic, the White House has announced.

The president will also pass on his gratitude to the CDC staff and scientists who are combatting the disease.

Three American medical workers who contracted the virus while caring for victims in West Africa have been brought to Atlanta for treatment at Emory University Hospital. Two have already been released.

While at the CDC, the president will also be briefed on “the respiratory illness reported in several states in the Midwest,” the White House said in a statement.
