Peter Sullivan’s story in The Hill comes with this headline:
Dems gloat over ObamaCare numbers
There were more signups, it seems, than had been anticipated so no fleas on this dog. As
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) praised his home state of Maryland’s efforts in doubling the number of sign-ups from last year, when its website was plagued with problems. “We’re very pleased with the numbers,” he said on a call with reporters Wednesday. “We’re very pleased that there’s been a definite uptick in interest. I’m not surprised interest has ticked up.”
Well, there is the thing about how if you don’t have health insurance you will be fined. People do all kinds of things because they don’t have a good alternative. And there were all those people who voted Hoyer’s party out of power in the last election – to include electing a Republican governor in his home state – and one suspects a dissatisfaction with Obamacare might have been a factor.
