Author and conservative talk show host Mark Levin is stepping up his criticism of President Obama’s immigration policies, decrying efforts to pave the way for illegal immigrant children to become permanent citizens under the so-called Dream Act and other initiatives.
Levin, promoting his new book Plunder and Deceit at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library, said Washington’s focus should be on giving a helping hand to native American children first.
Urging his audience to take into account the impact of immigration on their children, he said, “When is the last time, when is the first time our kids were discussed when we discussed immigration? How can it be that illegal immigrant kids are dreamers? Nobody talks about our kids as dreamers.”
Levin, whose new book is a wakeup call to Millennials about the hurdles the government is putting in their way, added that legal immigration is also a threat as companies try to import cheaper educated people to take high-tech jobs through the H-1B visa program.
“We have people who have these skills,” he said, but companies don’t want to pay the higher wages.
Levin has been on a tour to promote his book, subtitled, “Big Government’s Exploitation of Young People and the Future.”
In New York, New Jersey and California the top rated radio talker has been greeted with large and enthusiastic crowds. His book also debuted as No. 1 on the New York Times best seller list.
Levin believes the big reaction to his latest best seller is because Americans are frustrated with the direction of the country, Obama’s policies and GOP’s failure to stop the president’s agenda.
“Americans want their country back, there’s no question about it,” he said at the Sunday forum in California. He said his book is No. 1 “because Americans have had it, plunder and deceit, we’re being plundered and we’re being lied to. We’ve about had enough it it.”
