HARTFORD, Conn. — Two Albanian immigrants who live in Prospect have been released after spending more than a year in federal detention.

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal said Monday that Valent Kolami (Koh-LAW’-mee), a father and businessman who immigrated to the U.S. 13 years ago, received a stay of deportation and was released last Thursday. He and his brother-in-law and business partner, Adrian Emin, were detained by immigration authorities on April 24, 2012, held in Alabama.
