Chelsea Handler taunts Trump with Nordstrom bags outside White House

Liberal comedian Chelsea Handler on Thursday taunted the Trump family by posting a photo of herself holding Nordstrom bags in front of the White House.

“A Jew and a gay went to pick a Muslim up from the airport, headed straight to Nordstrom, and then headed over to @whitehouse to give our thanks!” Handler wrote on Instagram.

Trump has expressed his frustration with Nordstrom’s decision to stop selling Ivanka Trump’s name-branded line of clothing and shoes. “My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!” Trump tweeted this week.

The decision to drop Ivanka Trump’s line occurred after a weeks-long boycott campaign, organized by an anti-Trump activist group called “Grab Your Wallet.” These protesters demanded Nordstrom to stop doing business with the Trump family. But the store claims its decision was made because of poor sales.

“Each year we cut about 10% [of brands] and refresh our assortment with about the same amount,” the statement said. “In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season.”

White House press secretary Sean Spicer has defended Trump’s response, saying it was not about business but about “an attack on his daughter” and that the president “has every right to stand up for his family.”

Handler — who memorably cried on television after Trump won the presidential race — recently made news by saying she wouldn’t interview first lady Melania Trump because “she can barely speak English.”
