“It would send a demoralizing and dangerous message to the world that the United States makes judgments about people based on the country they come from and their religion.”
Have these groups ever heard of the struggle for Soviet Jewry? Was it wrong to single out that group in legislation? If not, why is it wrong to give special status to persecuted Christians? And by the way, if these groups believe in their moralistic posturing, why only 10,000 refugees? Why not 100,000? And what about others suffering in other countries?
Is it possible to envision a day when we American Jews won’t be embarrassed by the idiocy of much of the organized Jewish community?
