Rubio camp pounces on Trump with attack tweet

Marco Rubio’s campaign was ready to pounce on Donald Trump Thursday night, and tweeted out a link to a page about Trump’s questionable hiring practices just moments after Rubio attacked him on CNN’s debate stage.

Rubio’s tweet linked to a page on his website called “Donald Trump puts American workers last.” The page displays links to part articles showing that Trump imported 1,000 foreign workers, hired undocumented immigrants and provided visas to foreign workers over the years.

On stage, Rubio dismissed Trump’s claim that he’s tough on immigration, and said Trump has been fined for hiring illegal immigrants. “If he builds the wall the way he built Trump Tower, he’ll be using illegal immigrants to build it,” Rubio said of Trump’s plan to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border as the two sparred on immigration.

The line garnered Rubio applause from the live audience, and the Florida senator went on to hammer Trump on his previous stance on illegal immigration as he fired attack after attack.

During the January GOP debate in New Hampshire former candidate Chris Christie attacked Rubio for repeatedly using canned sound bites so much so that Rubio blamed his poor debate performance on his fifth place debate finish in New Hampshire.
