President Trump is generally leading the Democrats on key “kitchen table issues,” but appears vulnerable on healthcare, a big driver in the 2020 election, according to a new survey.
In the Zogby Analytics poll shared with Secrets, voters give Democrats a 46%-39% advantage on healthcare, an issue that the White House is scrambling to take control of.
“This issue strikes a chord and resonates not only with the Democratic base, but also with swing voters,” said pollster Jonathan Zogby.
But he also found that the liberal solution of Medicare for all isn’t a winning alternative for the Democrats.

“The Democrats do best on the issue of healthcare (Democratic leaders 46% vs. Trump 39%, 16% not sure), but does that mean voters want Medicare for all? That’s a tough one and in swing states, the answer is most likely no, as most voters do not approve of a blanket government healthcare solution such as Medicare for all,” said Zogby.
Off-setting that vulnerability is Trump’s control of three other key issues Zogby polled on: immigration, national security, and the economy.
On the issue of keeping the nation safe, Trump has a 44%-41% lead with help from urban and college-educated voters.
The economy continues to be all Trump, as several Gallup surveys have confirmed in the past several weeks. Zogby Analytics said that Trump leads 48% to 40%, with the help of men, suburbanites, and the college educated.
On immigration, voters are split, with Trump edging Democrats by just 45%-44%.
