The View host: Immigration raids are ‘reminiscent’ of what happened to Jews in Nazi Germany

The View host Joy Behar said planned immigration raids were “reminiscent” of what happened to Jews in Nazi Germany.

“He’s going to raid these people’s houses and what have you. It’s really reminiscent of Nazi Germany, just saying,” Behar said Thursday on The View. “I know you’re not supposed to make that connection, but I’ve been around long enough that I’ve read enough to know that this is very similar to what happened to the Jews. Go in and take them out of their houses.”

Behar’s question came as Sen. Michael Bennet joined the show to discuss his run for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

Bennet responded that he did not agree with Behar’s comparison and that his family were Polish Jews and Holocaust survivors.

The acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Ken Cuccinelli said Wednesday that the administration was planning on starting mass deportation raids.

“There are approximately 1 million people with deportation orders,” Cuccinelli said. “Of course, that isn’t what ICE will go after in this, but that’s the pool of people that have been all the way through the process.”
