WATCH LIVE: Biden holds event marking 12th anniversary of DACA

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden are holding an event marking the 12th anniversary of the passing of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

He is expected to use the occasion to announce sweeping immigration reform to speed a pathway to legal residency for about 500,000 illegal immigrants living in the United States. The actions will focus on spouses of U.S. citizens.

DACA, passed in 2012 by then-President Barack Obama, defers the deportation of children living in the U.S. illegally and gives them a pathway to citizenship. It was rescinded by former President Donald Trump before being reinstated by Biden.
