Since voters made Donald Trump the winner of the 2024 presidential election, Newsom emerged as a leader among Democratic governors, revealing their plans to protect their sanctuary status by defending the immigrants living among them. Trump’s plan to pursue mass deportations has been met with criticisms of its cost, but California is facing a much larger cost, according to Fallon.
