Anti-ICE rioters attacked Los Angeles police officers while attempting to break into a federal courthouse on Friday, prompting Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to warn that disorder could cause the military to be deployed to the city.
“A Dispersal Order was issued and as Officers began to move the line, agitators in the coward began to throw water bottles and other objects at the officers resulting in less than lethal munitions being deployed,” the LAPD reported. “Arrests have been made.”
Bass said five people were arrested during the illegal demonstration on Friday, including one who had used a slingshot to hurl metal projectiles at officers.

Violent protests were “exactly what I believe this administration wants to see happen,” Bass said in a press conference. “Don’t be surprised if the military reenters our city.”

“The riots in Los Angeles were a highly coordinated campaign of violence,” the Department of Homeland Security posted on X. “Agitators wielded shields and a mob of about 60 rioters threw rocks, bottles, fireworks, and even shot at law enforcement officers!”
“Peaceful protest is a constitutional right. I urge Angelenos to exercise that right safely and not give this administration an excuse to escalate,” Bass posted on X. “Los Angeles stands together.”
The rioters, according to footage posted online, waved upside-down American flags and Mexican flags while attacking Los Angeles police officers. As rioters threw trash and other debris toward shielded officers, police responded with pepper balls and irritant sprays.
Over 300 protests were part of an “ICE Out Everywhere” day of action that swept across the nation, with protestors demanding an end to President Donald Trump’s deportation agenda and the suspension of ICE operations. While many rallied in streets across the country, others stayed home from school or work to stage a “national shutdown.”
DON LEMON ARRESTED BY FEDERAL OFFICIALS OVER MINNESOTA CHURCH ‘ICE OUT’ PROTEST
The protests came in the wake of the killing of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by federal agents in Minneapolis.
“Of course, I know additional people came out, because they were outraged at the arrest of Don Lemon here in our own city last night,” Bass said.
