Free taco offered every time Trump says ‘Mexico’ during debate

A 24-hour food delivery service has offered an incentive for apolitical foodies to tune into the first Republican presidential primary debate.

Eat24, a mobile app that helps users order take-out and delivery in major metropolitan areas, announced on Twitter Thursday that it will post a coupon code to its account every time Donald Trump says “Mexico” during the prime-time debate. The company says users can use the codes to receive $5 off their orders of $10 or more up until 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 6.

“Once you have a coupon code, feel free to order whatever you want,” the app posted on its website. “Fish tacos, cheese enchiladas, pupusas, chicken tamales, carne asada tacos, or maybe go crazy and get carne asada tacos AND a burrito with extra guacamole.”

The gimmick is likely a play on the criticism Trump received for comments he made about illegal immigrants from Mexico during his presidential announcement.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best,” the real estate magnate said at the time. “They’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they’re telling us what we’re getting.”

Trump will take center stage at during Thursday’s debate in Cleveland, Ohio. He currently holds a double-digit lead over the rest of the Republican field, according to the latest Fox News poll.
