EXCLUSIVE — A former Biden-Harris transition team official who has been under scrutiny for his role at a nongovernmental organization that landed millions of dollars in immigration contracts has resigned his post, the Washington Examiner has learned.

Andrew Lorenzen-Strait, senior director for migrant services and federal affairs at San Antonio, Texas-based Endeavors, quit last week, according to the organization.
“We can confirm that Andrew has resigned. We are grateful for his time with us and wish him well,” said Jeff Eller, a spokesman for Endeavors.
The departure comes amid a congressional investigation into Endeavors and Lorenzen-Strait by House and Senate Republicans, as well as federal ones by the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General, into Lorenzen-Strait’s role in brokering multiple deals with the Biden administration after leaving the transition team.
Lorenzen-Strait oversaw ICE detention facilities prior to his transition team role and Endeavors job. ICE concluded in an investigation last year that Lorenzen-Strait was not legally permitted to work with outside groups on ICE matters but did so anyway.
In its rush to stand up facilities to hold families who come over the southern border illegally in rising numbers, ICE signed an $87 million contract with Endeavors. Weeks later, the Department of Health and Human Services awarded a $530 million contract to Endeavors to hold migrant children in custody. Last month, the DHS inspector general found Endeavors wasted $17 million of the first contract, prompting Republicans’ newest investigation.
