Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy will hold a press briefing at around 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
FOUR KEY FUNDING CLIFFS NEAR AS GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN CONTINUES WITH NO DEAL IN SIGHT
Duffy has warned about the effects of the government shutdown on air travel in the United States since the first days of the funding cliff. The Department of Transportation has flagged the effects of missed paychecks on the morale of air traffic controllers and warned of the effect on flights to rural communities.
The department found a way to keep funding the Essential Air Service program, which services small communities, through the beginning of November, but reports warn that the extended funding may soon lapse.
