THE SENATE’S TURN: Members of the Senate Armed Services voted 25-2 in favor of the committee’s markup of the fiscal 2019 National Defense Authorization Act yesterday, hours after the full House passed its version of the bill by a vote of 351-66.

“The array of national security threats facing the United States is more complex and diverse than at any time since World War II. The strategic environment has not been this competitive since the Cold War” according to a statement from the committee. “Simply put, America no longer enjoys the comparative edge it once had over its competitors and adversaries.”
