VIDEO — Weekly Examiner: The $1.1 trillion spending bill

On Thursday night the House narrowly passed a $1.1 trillion spending package to keep the government funded. The measure passed by a vote of 219 to 206 just hours before the midnight deadline. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle opposed parts of the spending bill.

The Senate this week released a scathing report on the CIA’s enhanced interrogation techniques which outlines in disturbing detail the methods used to question terrorism suspects.

President Obama had a busy week starting on Monday with a meeting in the oval office with Prince William. The two men met ahead of Prince William’s speech to the world bank. Obama traveled to Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday to hold a town hall meeting on immigration. Later in the week he met with members of the Export Council.
