One year ago, then-former President Donald Trump was shot during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The tragic event, which resulted in the death of a rallygoer, Corey Comperatore, transformed the 2024 presidential race. In Butler, there is still little in the way of answers. The Secret Service has made progress implementing the dozens of reforms that House and Senate lawmakers have recommended in the year since an assassination attempt against President Donald Trump, but more than half of the congressionally recommended changes remain incomplete.
