NASA is set to launch its Artemis II rocket on Wednesday from Cape Canaveral, Florida, with a launch window opening no earlier than 6:24 p.m.
WHAT IS THE NASA ARTEMIS PROGRAM?
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman made the announcement on Tuesday following months of launch delays due to technical difficulties. The mission will bring four U.S. astronauts to the moon and back, without landing directly on the lunar surface, for the first time since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972.
“Tomorrow, we launch. At sunset tonight, Artemis II waits on the pad, ready to carry astronauts potentially farther than any humans have traveled in more than half a century. The next era of exploration begins,” Isaacman said Tuesday evening.
