Amazon offered the Biden administration help with the coronavirus vaccine rollout.
Amazon’s senior vice president of worldwide operations, Dave Clark, sent this letter to Biden congratulating him while pledging to help with the vaccine’s distribution.
“Amazon stands ready to assist you in reaching your goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of your administration,” he said.
Clark’s letter also calls for the prioritization of vaccinating Amazon employees: “The essential employees working at Amazon fulfillment centers, AWS data centers, and Whole Foods Market stores across the country who cannot work from home should receive the Covid-19 vaccine at the earliest appropriate time.”
President Donald Trump did not have the same friendly correspondence — though Amazon did send a letter to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in December.
Trump and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos have been feuding for many years. It doesn’t help that Bezos also owns the Washington Post, a publication that Trump has consistently branded as fake news.
So far, Trump has not commented on Amazon’s offer to help the Biden White House.
