Powerhouse semiconductor chip developer Nvidia will invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI to support the ChatGPT parent company’s new AI infrastructure built with Nvidia systems, the two companies announced as part of a partnership Monday.

OpenAI will use Nvidia’s $100 billion gradual investment to fund the development of 10 gigawatts’ worth of artificial intelligence data centers, the infrastructure that powers AI. Each of these OpenAI-built data centers will be equipped with Nvidia systems.
