President Donald Trump confirmed Apple’s partnership with Intel to manufacture its chips in the U.S, reportedly surprising executives of the tech giant who then saw the company’s shares surge.
Trump emphasized that the U.S. should design and build its own chips and that the dependence on other countries, such as Taiwan, to produce the in-demand product should not have happened in the first place.
