Guitarist rocks Washington Music Center

Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen visited Chuck Levin’s Washington Music Center in Silver Spring on Tuesday and made two of the store’s customers very happy.

Collen wasn’t able to travel with his signature model Jackson guitar, called a PC-1, and wanted to borrow one from the store. At the same time, customer Andrew Knight, a huge Collen fan, had planned to buy one of these guitars, which are actually named after Collen. The store arranged for the two to meet, and Knight got a signed PC-1.

And the guitar Collen borrowed while staying in D.C.? He signed that one too, and it’s being shipped to another customer.

“He was a complete pleasure to deal with, a very personable guy,” said Brian Meader, who is in charge of guitar sales.
