Weiner doing his best to dodge ‘Weinergate’

All the buzz surrounding an alleged pic of Rep. Anthony Weiner seems fueled by dueling theories that the outspoken liberal congressman is either covering up bad behavior, as asserted by Andrew Breitbart of BidGovernment.com, or that he’s the victim of a conservative smear campaign that some say could include Breitbart himself.

Weiner has publicly stated that a prankster hacked his Twitter account and sent the lewd photo to a 21-year-old female student in Seattle, and she has since released a long statement saying that she’s a fan of the congressman, but there was no bad behavior for Weiner to cover up. She called the scandal a “fiasco” perpetrated by a stalker who had harassed her before, and who she assumed was simply trying their “latest attempts at defaming the Congressman and harassing his supporters.”

Funny enough, the only one not interested in talking about this Weiner weirdness at length is Weiner, who even tweeted about the hack just minutes after it happened. Now, while the scavengers swirl overhead, he’s hired a lawyer to investigate the incident.
