Sen. Ted Cruz has been challenging Donald Trump to a one-on-one debate for months, and on Friday, Cruz’s camp said Trump accepted.
“Happy to hear @realDonaldTrump accepted my challenge to debate one-on-one,” the Texas senator tweeted Friday morning.

But, Friday is April Fool’s Day, and Cruz’s announcement was just a gag.
Cruz’s announcement linked to a 72-second long YouTube video that linked to Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up,” making Cruz a practitioner of the ongoing Internet prank involving the 1987 song.
