A little Congressional competition

College basketball teams are not the only one’s getting a little mad lately.

On Wednesday, Congress hosted a basketball competition of their own with Olympic and Paralympic athletes. A room in the Rayburn House was temporarily turned into a gym, in an effort to continue to raise $8 million in funding for the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Paralympic Military Program, which provides post-rehabilitation support and mentoring to American servicemen and women.

Participants included 2008 Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, 2010 Olympic champion figure skater Evan Lysacek, and Christian Laettner, former NBA and Olympic basketball star. Reps. Joe Crowley, D-N.Y., and Joe Baca, D-Calif., faced off in a one-on-one slam-dunk contest.

Alyse Newhouse contributed.
