Local R&B singer Ginuwine thought he was simply headed to downtown party spot Eden to meet a family friend on Friday. Not so much.
More than 100 friends and family members had gathered on the rooftop for a surprise birthday party for the musician, who lives in the Maryland suburbs.
“I was really surprised,” he announced to friends after making the rounds with his wife, rapper Sole.
Cupcakes with a “G” on top were served, along with champagne. And yes, “Pony,” the artist’s hit song from the 1990s, definitely was played.
