Rubio slams Obama, Clintons on North Korea

MARSHALLTOWN, IOWARepublican presidential candidate Marco Rubio bashed Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration for their dealings with North Korea Wednesday. Rubio also took former President Bill Clinton to task for pushing to give paid speeches in the communist nation.

“We now have news this morning that this lunatic in North Korea has potentially tested a hydrogen bomb, which is twice as powerful as a regular nuke … Very powerful,” Rubio said during a town hall meeting. “It’s not confirmed — but here’s what’s confirmed: He’s a lunatic.”

“This administration has done nothing about it, and Bill Clinton wanted to give speeches in North Korea about a few years ago,” he said. “It’s reckless what’s happened under this administration and what happened under Hillary Clinton’s watch at the State Department.”

Rubio also said Washington needs to recognize North Korea as a terrorist state.

“North Korea needs to be back on the list of state sponsors of terror. They should never have been removed in the first place. They need to be put back on that list,” Rubio said.

The Florida senator also said that additional sanctions need to be slapped onto their regime, that the U.S. should rebuild military alliances with surrounding nations and recommit to missile defense.
