Fiesty Kasich says everything going to plan

Ohio Gov. John Kasich angrily denied that he is getting out of the GOP primary before his home state votes.

“I am doing just fine,” Kasich said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Kasich has failed to win any of the four states that have voted so far, though he had a strong second-place showing in New Hampshire. Kasich said he expected to lose the 11 states that vote on Super Tuesday on March 1.

But he said he expects to be strong in his home state of Ohio, which votes on March 15. He added that any candidate that can’t win their home state shouldn’t be in the race.

Kasich bristled at host Jake Tapper’s questioning on why he is still in the race, especially as GOP leaders want to consolidate the candidates in an effort to beat real estate mogul Donald Trump. Kasich said that he was staying in the race and lamented the “name-calling” that has gone on amongst the other candidates.

“I am going to run my campaign the way I want to, not the way some pundit wants me to do it so they can get more eyeballs,” Kasich said.
