Christie: Rubio should quit the senate

Chris Christie continued criticizing rival Marco Rubio Saturday, attacking his attendance record in the senate, a frequent criticism of Rubio.

“You heard Marco Rubio a few weeks ago saying he doesn’t go to the senate, and he doesn’t vote anymore because his doesn’t really matter. His vote won’t matter until we have a Republican president,” Christie said, paraphrasing Rubio in a town hall in New Hampshire. “Well, first of all, then quit, okay?”

“Give your vote to somebody who actually thinks your vote does matter,” Christie continued.

“Because I think it does matter,” Christie said.

Christie then went on to complain that Rubio’s reasoning was dishonest.

“So I don’t agree with these folks in Congress, including Senator Rubio, who said that his vote doesn’t matter anymore, and that’s why he doesn’t show up. By the way, that’s also baloney, he doesn’t show because he’s running for president,” Christie said.

“Don’t try to make it some self-righteous act of patriotism,” Christie said. “C’mon, Marco, we don’t believe any of that.”
