Elizabeth Warren: Obama protected Wall Street

Sen. Elizabeth Warren criticized President Obama’s actions on Wall Street.

“He picked his economic team and when the going got tough, his economic team picked Wall Street,” she said in an interview with Salon published Sunday.

Warren also praised President Obama for the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which she proposed before she joined the Senate. But she argued he didn’t do enough to protect middle-class families during the recession.

“They protected Wall Street,” she said. “Not families who were losing their homes. Not people who lost their jobs. Not young people who were struggling to get an education. And it happened over and over and over.”

A RealClearAverage of polls has Warren third behind Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden for the nomination; she is a 55 points behind Clinton and just two behind Biden.
