Valerie Harper — best remembered for playing sassy Rhoda Morgenstern on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” — is coming to Washington to play glamorous bad-girl Tallulah Bankhead in “Looped,” a play premiering June 4 at the Arena Stage at the Lincoln Theater.

Just finished a pictorial of Tallulah and I’m reading Brendan Gill’s “Tallulah.” I also just finished “The Yiddish Policemen’s Union” by Michael Chabon. I want to go back now and read “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay.”

I don’t. I am ashamed. I promise that this year I’m going to learn how to use a computer.
