Fiorina skips post-caucus event, flies to airport

Carly Fiorina skipped out on her post-Iowa caucus campaign event Monday night, citing serious weather as the reason for her early departure from the Hawkeye State.

Her party at the Hilton Garden Inn in West Des Moines, Iowa was scheduled to go until 11:00 p.m. Central time. A spokeswoman for her campaign told the press shortly after 9:30 p.m. that she never made it to the party and had instead headed to the airport, bound for New Hampshire.

The former Hewlett Packard CEO finished eighth out of 12 Republican candidates at the Iowa caucus Monday. She received 1.9 percent of support from GOP voters, according to the Associated Press.

Fiorina is ranked eighth in the Washington Examiner’s presidential power rankings. She is taking time off Tuesday and will hit the trail again Wednesday with evening events in the Granite State.
