The nation’s oldest LGBT newspaper, the Washington Blade, will reappear on newsstands Friday. The Blade was shuttered when its parent company filed for bankruptcy back in November. Staffers who stayed on produced (in the Blade’s place) the DC Agenda, and several of them eventually purchased the Blade name, the trademarks and copyrights and the entire 40-year archive. Readers chose the name Blade over the DC Agenda, which will continue to appear on the Web site as the title of the publication’s arts and entertainment section.
