Speakeasy: Stiller ‘disappointed’ in Obama

“In ways it’s been frustrating to see that we haven’t gotten further than we hoped in the last few years … I’m disappointed that we haven’t seen more bold decisions from him and a willingness, I think, to maybe stick to more of what he had – in his campaign – had said in terms of what he was willing to do.”

Actor Ben Stiller, talking with CNN’s Piers Morgan about his disappointment with President Obama. The actor – who supported Obama in the 2008 election – has just become the latest Hollywood star to say he’s “disappointed” with the president’s lack of progress — joining others including Robert Redford, Matt Damon and Barbra Streisand. Even Black Eyed Peas’ frontman will.i.am has had similar criticisms, telling the New York Times http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/23/magazine/23FOB-Q4-t.html?_r=1) “>in January that “I don’t want to hope anymore,” but that he wouldn’t use the word “disappointed” to describe his feelings about Obama’s performance. “I don’t feel disappointed. I feel like, Argggh! Speak louder! I feel like, Do something! I feel like jumping in,” he said.
