The Republican National Convention (RNC) released a video Wednesday in hopes of boosting morale for the party’s July convention.
But the ad comes just a day after Sen. Ted Cruz stomped out GOP front-runner Donald Trump in Wisconsin’s presidential primary, decreasing the chances of one candidate winning enough delegates in time for the Cleveland event.
“The largest field in GOP history has produced the biggest wave of excitement in a generation,” the video touts. “The last 15 months have come down to this.”
The RNC celebrated the 100 days left until the party’s convention rather than acknowledging conservative voters’ growing concerns of a brokered convention that party leaders use to nominate someone else.
Citing increased levels of voter turnout and public engagement in debates, the RNC called on Republicans to get excited for the June 18-21 event, the highlight of the campaign season.
