The man who was the sole attendee at an Iowa campaign event during a snowstorm last year for Democratic candidate Martin O’Malley has finally made a decision on which candidate he will caucus behind.
Kennan Seda, who met with the former governor of Maryland in Tema, Iowa, on Dec. 29, said he has picked O’Malley as his candidate of choice for the caucus.
In an interview with Politico, Seda said he was “very pleased with just [O’Malley’s] general demeanor,” and that a phone call from the candidate after their in-person meeting helped him make up his mind.
The day after the mid-snow storm encounter, O’Malley admitted to the hosts of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the 57-year-old Seda said he was still uncommitted and pledged he was “working on” getting Seda’s support.
Seda called the in-person conversation he had with O’Malley “heartfelt” and said he told O’Malley that he is the future of the Democratic party.
In the interview, Seda also said Hillary Clinton is his second choice and that she would most likely be the candidate he would support in the caucus next week.

Note: In an earlier story on their December encounter, it was erroneously reported that Seda’s first name was Kenneth, based on reports.
