Rapper T.I.: ‘I can’t vote’ for female president

Rapper T.I. on Tuesday made it clear that he believes “the world ain’t ready yet” for a female president.

“I can’t vote for, not to be sexist, but I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman,” he said during an appearance on DJ Whoo Kid’s radio show “The Whoolywood Shuffle.”

That was in response to a question about his thoughts on Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s presidential chances.

“Every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well,” said T.I., who was born Clifford Harris, Jr. “But the president, it’s kind of like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally — they make very permanent, cemented decisions — and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen or they didn’t mean for it to happen.”

He implied that he is afraid a female president would “set off a nuke” and would prove unable to “negotiate the right kinds of foreign policy.”

“I think you might be able to get the Loch Ness Monster elected before you could [a woman],” he continued. “It’s not right, but I’m just saying I don’t think [it could happen].”

T.I. apologized soon after. “My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong,” he tweeted later. “I sincerely apologize to everyone I offended.”

The Atlanta rapper also discussed his thoughts on Donald Trump, who currently leads the Washington Examiner‘s presidential power rankings.

“He’s interesting, and I feel he’s the best showman of them all,” he said. “And I do feel that if he’s sincerely concerned about the economy of America and the working public, he would be the best person to flip the money that we have.”

That said, Trump is not getting T.I.’s vote.

“His racist remarks, and all of his off-color statements … It makes it impossible to be completely supportive of him,” he said. “But just knowing what he’s done for business, for himself, if he intends to do that for America, it would be beneficial. But I can’t cast no vote for him.”
