Clinton leads in Fla. and Ohio, GOP split decision

Hillary Clinton holds significant leads in both Ohio and Florida going in to tomorrow’s primaries, while Donald Trump leads in Florida but lags behind in Ohio.

According to polls by American Research Group released on Monday, Clinton leads Sanders 58 percent to 37 percent in Florida and 52 to percent to 45 percent in Ohio. While both states are important during the Democratic primary, they will both be critical swing states during the general election.

In Florida, Clinton leads Sanders among female voters 60-35 percent and among male voters, a demographic Sanders normally dominates. She also leads among those who cast their ballot in advance 61-38 percent.

In Ohio, Clinton’s numbers aren’t quite as high but she is still well positioned. Among women Clinton leads the Vermont Senator 59-18 percent but Sanders leads the former secretary of state 55-41 percent among male voters. Furthermore, among those who say they will “definitely vote” in the primary Tuesday Clinton only leads Sanders 49-47 percent.

On the Republican side, John Kasich is carrying his home state while Marco Rubio is losing his. Kasich is up over Trump 44 percent to 38 percent while Trump beats Rubio in Florida 49-24.

The polls were conducted March 12-13 with a margin of error of 5 percent.
