Trump: ‘I think we’ve had enough debates’

Donald Trump said the Republican Party should axe its final scheduled debate in Salt Lake City on March 21.

“I think we’ve had enough debates,” the GOP presidential front-runner told reporters during a press conference Friday morning, hours after the 12th debate wrapped up in Miami.

“I mean, how many times do you have to give the same answer to the same question?” he added.

Trump also remarked on the civility displayed during Thursday’s GOP debate, which was drastically different than the 11 that came before it. The billionaire described the prime-time event as “very elegant,” but insisted it should be the last debate held in the primary season.

“I think it will be nice to finish off with this one. I thought CNN did a fantastic job last night,” Trump said. “I thought that Jake [Tapper] was a great moderator. It was just a really nice way to finish off the debate season.

He continued, “But I really think it’s enough debates. I don’t think there’s any reason for the debates.”

“I think we’ve had enough,” Trump added, suggesting that none of the candidates “want them.”

Trump said he “didn’t know” the RNC had scheduled a 13th debate.
