The Washington Hilton is turning 45, and for the occasion, the hotel is getting its original name back (it’s been called Hilton Washington since 1998) and inviting a couple of big-name guests.
On the list: the likenesses of Presidents Obama, Johnson and Reagan, all borrowed from Madame Tussauds Washington D.C.
These presidents represent “key moments in the hotel’s history,” according to a news release.
For example, the statement said, “President Reagan attended countless functions at the hotel; many of his visits are remembered as historic moments in American history.”
Aren’t you leaving something out? In 1981, Reagan was shot leaving the hotel by John Hinckley Jr. The assassination attempt led to the adoption of another name for the hotel: the Hinckley Hilton.
