Cruz will attend N.D. state convention to woo delegates

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will speak at the North Dakota GOP convention this weekend in an effort to attract delegates, a Cruz campaign spokeswoman confirmed.

North Dakota’s delegates to this summer’s are unbound and will be selected at a state convention this weekend. Cruz, as Politico reported, will deliver a speech to the state’s GOP officials one day before the state selects its delegates.

The Roughrider State will send 28 delegates to the Republican National Convention. Some of the state’s delegates are already known, including Curly Haugland, who previously attracted attention for suggesting that the GOP — and not voters — will select the Republican nominee.
