The two Dallas nurses who contracted Ebola caring for Texas patient Eric Duncan are part of the Democrats’ “war on women,” according to one Republican congressman.
“As far as I know, I’m okay. But do any of us really know for sure?” Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert responded when asked how he was doing by Glenn Beck.
Gohmert then accused Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Tom Frieden of being the “new commander” of the “war on women” — saying the CDC “set them [the nurses] up and then they throw them under the bus.”
Beck agreed.
Gohmert then called Frieden an “idiot” for letting the first nurse violate protocol, despite not knowing of one to violate.
“At least in football, they have to tell you what you violated,” he added, claiming that the hospital had no protocol.
The two also called for Frieden’s resignation.
Gohmert lamented the decision to send approximately 4,000 troops to West Africa to help deal with the Ebola outbreak.
“I thought we learned after Beirut we don’t send people in places unless you’re prepared against terrorists,” he said, referring to whether or not the troops will be armed.
“Our military does not belong there,” Beck said, saying President Obama should ask for volunteers to go instead.
