‘Stop it’ Trump warns his bully followers

Donald Trump’s supporters who are using his election as an excuse to bully blacks, Latinos and gays should just knock it off, the president-elect said on his first post election interview on “60 Minutes” Sunday night.

Informed by CBS News’ Lesley Stahl that some of his followers were doing that, Trump first professed shock and outrage.

“I am very surprised to hear that. I hate to hear that. I mean, I hate to hear that,” the billionaire said.

He did admit to seeing “one or two instances” of that sort of behavior on social media but rationalized “it’s a very small amount.”

Stahl kept prodding, which produced emphatic instructions from the president-elect to his supporters.

“I would say don’t do it. That’s terrible. Because I’m going to bring this country together,” he said.

“They’re harassing Latinos, Muslims,” the journalist added.

“I am so saddened to hear that. And I say ‘Stop it.’ If it – if it helps – I will say this and I will say it right to the camera: ‘Stop it,'” Trump warned.
