Priebus to Trump: ‘Give us all a break’

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus slammed Donald Trump on Twitter Tuesday night for complaining that the GOP convention nominating process is rigged against him.

“Nomination process known for a year + beyond. It’s the responsibility of the campaigns to understand it. Complaints now? Give us all a break,” Priebus tweeted late Monday night.

The tweet comes just hours after Trump said that the convention is a “disgrace” and that Priebus “should be ashamed of himself because he knows what’s going on” during an interview with The Hill.

Trump has been publicly enraged over various aspects of the previously-agreed upon nominating process, citing that some delegates aren’t bound to vote for their state or district winner during the summer GOP convention. This week, Trump’s main opponent Ted Cruz won all 34 of Colorado’s delegates following the state party convention, which further angered Trump.

After winning the Louisiana primary, Trump threatened to sue the RNC because he felt the delegates weren’t allocated properly, but he never followed through on the threat. As the Republican nominating process moves forward and Trump continues to lose delegates to Cruz, the business mogul’s new convention manager Paul Manafort told NBC that they plan to “file several protests” to the RNC.
