We always thought of Kristi Yamaguchi as a 1990s figure skater or a 2000s “Dancing with the Stars” champ, but little did we know that in 2012 she’s a children’s book author as well, using pigs — yes, pigs — to teach lessons like tolerance. Yamaguchi plans to discuss and sign her newest book, “It’s a Big World, Little Pig!” at the National Press Club on March 10. This is a follow-up to her 2011 children’s book, “Dream Big, Little Pig!” Both books feature the adventures of a figure-skating pig named Poppy. The book signing is free to National Press Club members and $5 for the general public and will be held at 2 p.m. in the NPC ballroom.
