One World Trade Center opens for business

The World Trade Center is once again open for business.

One World Trade Center, at 104 stories tall and a price tag of $3.9 billion, opened for business Monday.

Conde Nast was the first organization to move into the building, according to NBC New York. By 2015, more than 3,000 employees of the publishing giant will work there.

“The New York City skyline is whole again, as One World Trade Center takes its place in Lower Manhattan,” said Patrick Foye, executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Foye said One World Trade Center “sets new standards of design, construction, prestige and sustainability; the opening of this iconic building is a major milestone in the transformation of Lower Manhattan into a thriving 24/7 neighborhood.”

It is now the tallest building in America.
